The news and headlines that grabbed our attention this past week:

Apple vs. Samsung Verdict Is In: Apple Wins via Mashable: The jury has reached a verdict in the Apple vs. Samsung patent trial taking pace in a San Jose, Calif. court. Apple succeeded in the majority of its claims against Samsung, with the jury awarding Apple more than $1 billion in damages and potentially banning several Samsung devices from the U.S. market.

The Rise of “Me-Commerce” via Forbes: We are in the midst of a not-so-new startup gold rush. Declining startup costs associated with creating companies have democratized the ability to create. Forbes takes a look at the rise of what they’re calling “me-commerce.”

Payment Data Is More Valuable Than Payment Fees via TechCrunch:  We are in the midst of a great revolution in the payments space: anyone with a phone can now accept credit cards; online-to-offline commerce is allowing online payment for offline purchase and significant friction is being removed from the consumer purchase experience thanks to mobile.
